We're back at it!

This weekend was absolutely gorgeous. The family and I went to the Tulsa VW Club auto show and I enjoyed that thoroughly as usual. We were so inspired that we came home and got to work on the Bug. Steve graduated and we took some time off to just rest and regroup after that. But now it's time to get back to work on this car!

~~~~~
I convinced Steve that after he gets the new driver's side floor pan in place, he'll want to move the car out onto the driveway to clean it out and start taking out the rusty parts of the interior. But before we can roll the car out, we really need to replace the tires. So Steve removed one of the tires off the rim and no kiddin', water poured out of that tire! That water had to have been in that tire since we pulled the car from the field, because the car's been inside our shop ever since.
Here's Steve with a round wire brush thing on his drill removing rust from the rim.
Here I am painting the rim with rust encapsulator.
Steve really wanted to finish up getting the driver's side floor pan out...there was one little strip left in place. But he couldn't stand it, he felt like the car was just too dirty to work in...so he got that little brush thing again and really cleaned up the interior.
Here I am, sitting in my Beetle! I got a bar stool and put it in there just so I could get the idea of what it's like to sit in it!
Upcoming plans!
1. Replace the floor pan on the driver's side.
2. Get new tires.
3. Get a key!
